       Villa Reina 2 is located in the historic village of Vrisses. It was built in a traditionally Cretan style and materials such as local stone and cypress wood from Chania were used. The furniture in the villa was handmade at the workshop of a craftsman in the nearby village of Pemonia. Villa Reina was completed in 2008 but 2009 is the first summer that it is open to guests. The villa consists of two floors and lies inside the village with a fantastic view to the majestic White Mountains. There is a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace, 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 2 fully equipped bathrooms with one jetted tub and a spacious veranda. It also has a balcony, a terrace with a pool and gardens shared with the adjacent sister villa. Unlike most of the villages on Crete, Vrisses is a very new village. The village is in existence since 1925 and was built around the river ''Vrissano''. It was originally developed on the site of 2 inns which were there to accommodate the merchants and travellers travelling to and from Sfakia on the south coast. Life in Vrisses has always been leisurely with many of the locals sitting out the long hot summer days under the large shady plane trees on the banks of the river. Vrisses has always been known for its many agricultural products and is particularly famous for its delicious yoghurt, honey and cheeses. There are many olive and orange groves nearby and the cheese factories are worth a visit. After the village Pithari (about 5 km from the airport) follow the circular road to SOUDA. Follow the road to SOUDA until you arrive at the first traffic lights. There, turn right and after 150-200 metres stop at the left side of the road and turn carefully left following the direction to RETHYMNO. Pass under the bridge and turn to the national road according the sign. Driving on the national road on the direction to Rethymno in the middle of the distance (30 km from Chania) follow the exit to the village of Vrisses. From Vrisses follow the road to Sfakia and at the end of the village after about 300m on your left hand you will see a cement road driving up to the hill. Follow that road and after about 50 meters you will arrive to Villa Reina. Arrival from Heraklion airport: Please beware that the speed restrictions vary along the National Road so keep watch for the signs indicating the speed limit. Traffic police with speed cameras are a regular sight between Heraklion and Rethymnon. After having the car RESET YOUR KM CLOCK. With the airport building behind you, drive up to the traffic lights and straight over leaving the airport car park on your right. You will pass a sign reading Heraklion on your right. (0.2km). Turn right onto the slip road. (0.6km).Follow the signs to Rethymno and the National road E75.You are now on the National road the speed limit is 90km per hour. Continue on the National Road heading towards Rethymnon. Driving on the national road on the direction to Rethymno in the middle of the distance (30 km from Chania) follow the exit to the village of Vrisses. From Vrisses follow the road to Sfakia and at the end of the village after about 300m on your left hand you will see a cement road driving up to the hill.
