Double room dwelling of 50 m2 which may accommodate up to 4 persons. Its areas are made up in four different levels. It comprises a balcony and one covered veranda. It is dated since the end of 1800, while in the past served as a store room for grains, oil, and wine. One of its areas was part of the wine press which does not exist now.

All our dwellings are two-storey (maisonettes) with unlimited view to the mountain and the sea. They are exclusively built in stone and wood to match their surroundings. Each is built at a different level due to the ground's steep slope, with common courtyards as well as independent verandas or balconies and quiet corners. All dwellings have two main entrances with traditional rustic locks and big iron keys. They are decorated with many small folklore objects and antiques. All incorporate the same comforts and luxury, although they differ in size and layout.
Communal areas The reception area is common for all dwellings, presenting the image of a small coffee house where visitors may taste tsikoudia, wine, herbs and local dishes. During their stay, visitors can find in this area buy all types of local products as well as a small variety of necessity items. This area provides the possibility of internet connection and also includes a small library, music cds, dvd films and board games. The settlement also includes a large traditional wood-oven and barbecue, swimming pool, well equipped gym and steam bath.
Local Amenities and Activities
Apokoronas Prefecture is well known for its hospitable inhabitants, its beautiful traditional villages and the unique nature beauty. It is worth visiting all of them, since each one has its own particular colour, traditions, folkways and history. Stylos, Nio Chorio, Armeni, Kalyves, Plaka, Gavalochori, Kefalas, Vamos, Fres, Tzitzifes, Pemonia, Paidochori, Exopoli, Kalamitsi, Fylaki, Vrysses, Vafes, Emprosneros, Argyroupoli, Assi-Gonia, only to name a few. The nearest beach in Kalyves is located at a distance of 12 km, while you may also visit the beach of Almyrida (14 km) and Georgioupoli (30 km), all clean and awarded with the blue flags. You may visit Stylos springs, walk along rivers Kiliaris, Xydias or Almyros, marvel the biotope of Georgioupoli and the unique Kourna Lake found in Crete. If you prefer the mountain, there are also many trails to follow. From Kares you will ascend the small stone-built structures of shepherds at location Gournes. From Kambi you may start for the Volika refuge at an altitude of 1450 m where the only is access is by foot, or Psychro Pigadi, a location with view virtually to the whole north part of the prefecture. And of course the choices are not limited here.
The gorge of Diktamos, 10 km long, is spectacular. Inside the other very near gorge of the area the Ramni-Macheri you will come across the Byzantine church of Agios Nikolaos as well as of Agios Mamas. Other Byzantine monuments, the castle, Panagia Serviotissa near Stylos, Agios Ioannis Theologos, the monastery of Agios Georgios in Karydi. It would be an omission not to visit Aptera, with remains from the ancient, Byzantine and roman eras. The Minoan Tombs in the same area are also impressive. In the entire region there are more than 200 caves, the nearest Samonas cave located next to our settlement as well as the church of Agios Samonas. However, Chania and our Crete are not limited here. Maybe all these are just a small, good start. Going around the area you will come across hospitable coffee houses and beautiful taverns with traditional Cretan cuisine. No matter your choice eventually, the only thing certain is that you will be delighted with all your senses. We wish its recollection will bring you back soon to us.

Airports / Sea Ports / Other Transport
Nearest airport is Chania's airport (Daskalogiannis) at about 40km. There is also Heraklion's airport (Kazantzakis) at 150km.
Souda is the nearest port (20km).
There is one bus daily which come to Samonas from Chania and back.
Driving directions (from airport or sea port)
How do I get to Samonas?
a) From Chania airport follow the route: Airport - Souda - Megala Horafia - Styos - Samonas. More specific: 7 km from the airport you turn left to Souda. Then enter the high way with direction to Rethymnon. A few kilometers after, follow the exit to Megala Horafia and go straight ahead to the village of Stylos. At the end of Stylos village, the road is separated. You have to follow the right acclivitous one. After 5 km you will reach Samonas village. Our traditional houses are on your left hand, after the first couple of residences.
b) From Heraklion airport follow the route: Airport - Rethymnon - Kalyves - Stylos - Samonas. More specific: From Heraklion - Rethymnon head to Chania. From the high way only few km before Souda,take the right exit to Kalyves and then follow the route to the villages of Armenoi - Neo Horio - Stylos. At the entrance of Stylos, turn left to the narrow acclivitous road to Samonas (5 km). Our traditional houses are on your left hand, after the first couple of residences.

If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled less than 14 days before date of arrival 25% of your booking cost will be charged on your credit card.
In case of non-show 50% of your booking cost will be charged on your credit card.
