Aghios Nikolaos

Aghios Nikolaos is a historic coastal town built on a lake!

Aghios Nikolaos is the capital of the Lasithi province, built on the western side of the Gulf of Mirabello around the famous Voulismeni or Apatos lake. According to the colorful Greek Myth, the godesses Athena and Artemis bathed in this lake and it is bottomless! The town is a cosmopolitan tourist resort which has maintained, to a great extent, its traditional feel, especially around the lake. Its a wonderful town that offers everything from shopping, tavernas and restaurants, enjoying Greek culture, including a number of archaelogical museums and sites nearby.
�Special sites include the sunken ancient city of Olounda, parts of which we can see under water, several beautiful organized but also undiscovered coves and beaches, an aquarium, water park and golf course all at under a thirty minute distance!


The chapel of Aghios Nikolaos lies on port’s peninsula. This is where small boats set off to visit the islet of Spinalonga, with its Venetian castle, from Victoria Hislop's best selling novel "The Island". The town is also connected to the Cyclades (Melos), Cassos, Carpathos, Cos, Rhodes and the port of Piraeus.

Aghios Nikolaos is an ideal base for excursions as it is situated 75 kilometers from Herakleion airport/port, 70 kilometers from Siteia and 36 kilometers from Ierapetra.

Driving directions (from airport or sea port)

Directions from Heraklion airport to Pleiades Luxurious Villas

Follow the National Road from the airport to Aghios Nikolaos. That is approximately 65kms driving to the East. Aghios Nikolaos is apparent when you reach a crossroad with traffic lights – at the lights take a left follow the road round – now signposted Elounda, and then veer to the right. An EKO garage is on your left and a hotel called Micro Village on your right. Follow this road for about 2.5 kilometers. On your left you will see the sign for ‘Pleiades Luxury Villas’ (it is a large blue sign).
Take this left up the private entrance through the gates, make sure you continue up the drive but don’t take the first turning follow the road up and round and you will pass a couple of the villas and see the reception on your left.
Park your car and the villa manager will be there ready to check you in to your villa.

Payment policy

25% deposit on the total agreed price of the reservation upon confirmation

The deposit needs to be completed at least 61 days prior to the arrival date, or immediately in case the reservation is made in the period of 60 to 0 days before arrival

75% settlement of the balance three weeks prior the arrival date.

Full prepayment needs to be completed at least 21 days prior to the arrival date, or immediately in case the reservation is made in the period of 20 to 0 days before arrival.

Cancellation policy

No cancellation fee is charged for cancellations received 61 days prior to the arrival date

25% of the total due will be charged for cancellations received 60 – 21 days prior to the arrival date.

50% of the total due will be charged for cancellations received within 20 - 7 days prior to the arrival date.

100% of the total due will be charged for cancellations received within 6 - 0 days prior to the clients’ arrival date.

Early departure or non-show will be charged 100% of the total of the non-used or remaining overnights of the reservation.
