The rainforest setting provides a dramatic backdrop for this 7-villa retreat; each colonial-style stone cottage has one to two bedrooms and a kitchenette, terrace, and our favorite amenities—a pool, gym, and terraces with views of the mountains. Insider Tip:


Skip nearby Agujas beach to spend a day at a private shore (less than 10 minutes by car from the villa). It’s worth the ride to visit the black-sand beach. Also just 7 miles away from Carara National Park.
