       A charming and elegant 19th century villa, stylishly furnished with antique Sicilian furniture and ideally located at 50 metres from Corso Umberto, Taormina’s heart and historical centre, with its intriguing network of narrow streets, medieval buildings, charming churches, elegant shops, bars and restaurants. You can reach some of Taormina’s finest beaches via a panoramic cable car (the journey takes a couple of minutes) located 150 metres away from the property. The ground floor is given over to a large living cum dining area with two distinct but essentially open-plan areas, one with an open fireplace, television and stylish sofas, one with a dining table, sitting area and direct access to the garden. Off this living area is a fully equipped kitchen with dining table and access to the garden. Up a staircase to the first floor, where there is the master bedroom with queen size bed and adjoining bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, two single bedrooms with French bed and en-suite bathrooms (one with tub, one with shower), and a stylish living room with two balconies. Going up to the second floor, there is a double bedroom with queen size bed and en-suite bathroom (with shower), a twin bedroom, a sitting area and a guest bathroom. All bedrooms, except the master bedroom at the first floor have air-conditioning. Local Amenities and ActivitiesTo get from Catania Airport to Taormina, there is a direct bus service with Interbus (journey time about 1 hour), taxis at about 90 euros (journey time 45 mins), or you can hire a car with some of the main companies. We may be able to arrange a pick-up service from Catania Airport for small parties. Check in / Check out timesfrom Saturday to Saturday and will be available for occupation from 4.00 p.m. on the date of arrival. On departure day, the property must be vacated by 10.00 a.m. At quieter times of the year, there will be less problems over arrival/departure days and times. Airports / Sea Ports / Other TransportThe nearest and most convenient airport to Taormina is Catania Airport (about 60 km, 45 mins drive). Other options include flying to Palermo (3 hours drive), Trapani (4 hours drive) or Reggio Calabria (30mins crossing time to Messina plus 30mins drive). Driving directions (from airport or sea port)From Catania Airport, follow the green sign to “Tangenziale” (i.e. take a left at the airport exit), then keep following the green signs to “Tangenziale ovest/Autostrade” until you will see the green signs to the “E45 A18 Messina” motorway. You are now in the motorway which will take you to Taormina. From the “E45 A18 Messina” motorway, take the exit “Taormina”. Once you have come through the pay toll, follow the signs to " Taormina - Castelmola" on your left (Note: don't follow the signs to "mare - SS114" on your right). Follow the road which will take you to Taormina. You have to pass the car parking called “Parcheggio Lumbi” and follow the road for about less than 1 km until Piazza San Pancrazio where Villa Carla is located.
