Local Amenities and Activities

Begur lies in a semicircle around a hill on which a castle stands, the 5 huge towers of which are officially protected as a site of national importance. The castle is of the 15C and was occupied during the War of Independence. From there the beach of Pals, the Medes Islands and the Empordà plain can be seen. The narrow, winding streets with the porticoed galleries of the houses are typical. These buildings belonged to the so-called Indianos, ie, natives of Begur, who emigrated in the 19C and returned rich. After rounding the Cape of Begur, leaving a rough coast, the Bay of Sa Tuna provides the first contrast: the beach of eternally peaceful waters skirts a fishing village, where a 14C fountain and the ruins of a medieval tower are preserved and shared with the summer visitors.

Beach area: Tamariu breathes tranquillity. In Tamariu, you can stroll along the coastal path, along the Beach of Els Liris (where there is a hut from 1872 owned by a group of partners), go for a trip to the spring at the Font d'en Cruanyes or go out in a kayak as far as Cala Pedrosa and on the first Saturday in September, you can listen to a habaneras recital on the beach.

The easiest way to get to the villa is by hire car. All the low cost airlines offer cheap car hire from their respective airports. Car hire is also available most of the main suppliers including hertz, tigercarrental and carhire4less. We will send you directions if you book but approximate times are indicated here: Gerona (approx 40 mins) If travelling form the UK a number of charter airlines during the summer and by Ryanair from Stansted. Barcelona (approx 90 mins) Easyjet from a variety of UK airports. Perpignon (approx 75 mins) If travelling from the UK then there is Ryanair from Stansted.

Policies & Disclaimers

If you would like to make a booking then we require 40% of the total booking amount on reservation with the balance of payment due 42 days before the commencement of the booking. We are currently offering the following reductions, 10% on all early bird bookings and 15% on all bookings of 14 days or more. Included in the rates is a twice weekly maid service as well as end of stay cleaning,extra maid service can be arranged on request. We also require a refundable breakages deposit of 500 EUR which will be returned on departure and our minumum rental period is seven nights.
