Set on the outskirts of this historic working village surrounded by vineyards and with the backdrop of the mountains there is something for everyone to enjoy. Take in a tour of the wine “caves” in the region, go on a cycling tour, the walks are too numerous to mention or just sit around the pool relaxing.
There are a number of vineyards of note in the village and many more surrounding it. Although the house is situated in the countryside, it is still close enough to the historic towns of Beziers, Pezenas and the coast. The fully fitted kitchen gives access to the Rear Terrace with steps leading down to the Pool. Utility Room with washing machine, freezer etc. Bedroom 1 is a double room with an En-Suite Bathroom. Bedroom 2 is again a bouble room. Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds Bedroom 4 is a double room with doors to the rear terrace. Through the heavy wooden door and the spacious accommodation opens up as soon as you walk into the L shaped entrance hall. Double doors open into the Lounge and Dining area with a wood burning stove. There are also double doors from the lounge to the Front Terrace, which is ideal for you evening glass of wine. The fitted Kitchen has everything you will need. Built in oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher etc. There is a separate utility room and additional baking room, which opens onto the rear terrace with fantastic views of the surrounding vineyards. From the main hall, access is gained to the bedrooms from a separate corridor. We have 4 double bedrooms, 1 with an en-suite bathroom having "his and hers" twin sinks. There is also a separate shower room with wheel chair access. In addition, there is a separate cloakroom/w.c.Outside, to the front is a covered terrace and to the side a driveway for 2/3 cars. The rear garden has 2 lawned sections and natural shade. The pool is surrounded by a sun bathing tilled area. Steps lead up to the rear terrace, which offers the all important shade in the afternoons. We also offer free Wi-Fi Broadband. The house is a couple of minutes walk from the center of the village, which has a local bakers, vegetable shop (most of the produce is grow in the village), bar/café and a local tobac. Just 20 minutes to the west is Roquebrun - known locally as the Nice of Languedoc, because of its warm micro-climate - with swimming and canoeing on the Orb river; and impressive Mediterranean garden. Try the Petie de Nice for lunch. Or have a picnic on the river side. 20mins drive brings you to the impressive Gorges d'Heric for stunning views for walkers and climbers alike. For those that like Golf and Gambling - Lamalou les Bains offers both. If you like wine - the Faugeres region is renowned for it's excellent reds, whites, rosés, with numerous wine caves to visit and taste. Beziers, 25 mins drive, is a thriving town, with cathedral perched on a hillside, (climb the tower - to enjoy a stunning view), shops, restaurants, cafés. Wonderful events and fetes, including the well known Feria in the midst of August. Walk along the Canal du Midi, or take a boat ride, - this famous canal dates from the 17th century, wonderful for easy shaded walking, or biking. If you want Mediterranean beaches - Valras Plage is only 25 minutes from Autignac - one of many places along the 100 kms plus golden sands of Languedoc - resorts that include such celebrity places as Cap d'Agde, and the fishing town of Sete - where jousting from boats occurs. If you are looking for castles, Languedoc boasts some of the best including the medieval walled city of Carcassonne, which hosts international festivals throughout the summer. For those seeking Cathar castles with giddy heights - try Rivesaltes and head inland to visit Queribus and Pyrepertuse - where in summer you can feast and enjoy Medieval style romps. There are direct flights to Beziers from various U.K. & European airports via www.ryanair.com Bristol have flights during the summer on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. During the winter months these flights are usually reduced. Flying time is approximatly 1 hour 45mins. Luton: the flights from Luton are on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays.
