Villa Amvrosia is located a few paces away from one of the best beaches of southern Crete, having panoramic view of the Libyan Sea and Koufonisi Island. The newly built villa (2009) provides A' class accommodation to at least 8 people, has two levels, and is slightly sloped toward the sea. It is nestled in a private garden, where edible vegetables and fruits are grown, enclosed by stone walls. The villa has a large terrace with a partially shaded pergola covered with flowering vines for respite from the sun. The dining area is located under the pergola. There is also a barbeque and a traditional stonewall woodfurnace. There is a spacious (50 m2) private swimming pool that has a sea view with 200 m2 of surrounding space that is furnished with sun loungers/deck chairs.
All of the rooms feature cool tile floors and soothing white walls and are comfortably furnished. Magnificent sea views figure prominently into the design of the house.
Following a few steps from garden level you are led to the spacious veranda of the first floor and the villas' main entrance. The door opens up into a large living room/dining room/kitchen area. The living room has two large sofas, a working fireplace, large satellite TV, DVD player, and a panoramic view over the coastline. Adjacent to the living room is the dining area and kitchen. The dining area has a large wooden table that seats eight comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a dishwater, a cook top, oven, microwave, espresso coffee maker. It also has a table with chairs. It is separated by a counter with stools from the dining area and has unobstructed sea views. There is an entrance from the pool to the kitchen, through a very small stairway (about 5 steps). There is also a guest bathroom with sink and toilet on the ground floor.
The second level has 4 sunny and airy bedrooms, furnished and decorated with great taste. There is a corridor separating the rooms with a small sitting arrangement that leads to a large furnished veranda with a view to the sea and the beach. The master bedroom has a queen size (160 cm mattress) bed and en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi cabin. Two of the bedrooms are twin bedded. The two twin beds in each room can be pushed together to form a large king bed upon request. The last bedroom also has a queen size (160 cm mattress) bed. All of the bedrooms are equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, and wireless Internet access. In the same level, there is a full bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub.

Villa Ambrosia was built on intent to be used as a summer house by the owner and not as a typical touristic accommodation. In 2008, the villa was expanded and modified in order to be able to host guest families. Our philosophy is to provide the experience of traditional Cretan hospitality while in a comfortable and fully equipped house, and not just a standardized stay at a touristic accommodation. The choices we made concerning the location and construction of the villa have the following advantages.
South-eastern Crete is renowned throughout Europe for its natural beauty and warm, sunny climate ,a pole of attraction for lots of tourists that want family vacation, while many have decided to relocate permanently. Location Galini, where the villa is situated, was especially chosen for its natural protection from strong winds that typically blow throughout the year. The thin pebbled beach has crystal clear waters and a beautiful seabed; additionally a quiet beach bar and a tavern operate throughout the summer.
Moreover, the number of activities offered during the summer would satisfy even the most demanding ones ; Within a radius of 15 kilometers, one can find water sports (water-ski, wakeboard, windsurf, banana and ring rides), a diving center , go-cart, playgrounds, eco and agro tourism facilities, and a vast network of hiking paths connecting the beach with neighbouring villages. The local tavernas and restaurants have maintained their character, due to the careful touristic development around Ierapetra, and offer traditional and quality dishes in really reasonable prices. Last but not least, there are a lot of bars and nightclubs in the town of Makry Giallos and Ierapetra, that offer a great variety of choices for all tastes and ages.
The ground floor of the villa is an independent flat, where sometimes the owner’s family may reside. Directions from Heraklion Airport
Follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos.
At the first traffic lights at Agios Nikolaos turn right and follow the signs to Ierapetra.
Just past the village of Pachia Ammos turn again right to Ierapetra. Do not go straight on to Sitia!
On the first traffic lights in Ierapetra turn left following the sign to Sitia.
14.0 km past Ierapetra you will see on your right an “ELIN” gas station and 500m past the gas station, you will see “Hotel Achlia” at your left hand.It has several flags outside.
After that you will face the following landscape, and just turn to the direction of the arrow. The villa’s entrance is located 100m past this turn.
Policies & Disclaimers
A non-refundable booking/security deposit of 200 Euros is required to secure a booking. A booking will be confirmed, after receiving the full deposit. The additional total rental is collected 2 weeks prior to departure. For any booking made less than 2 weeks before departure the full payment is payable at the time of booking, along with the security.
Your security deposit paid at the time of booking will be returned within 4 weeks of your return, subject to a final inspection confirmation that the villa and its contents are in the same condition as on your arrival. Any damage and/or breakage, will be made good from your security deposit. The party leader agrees to accept full liability for all loss or damage caused by any member of their party, during the occupation of the villa and confirms that the full cost of repair or replacement will be met.
