         “ARCHONTIKO PETRAS” is a stone house of 1821, which began to operate as an A’ Class Hotel in 2008 and operates throughout all year. Our hotel has five luxurious rooms overlooking the garden and the church of Petra, built on a rock, or the houses of our village. Inside the hotel, an atmosphere of an old mansion dominates, with a unique combination of antique and English County style furniture, exciting at the first sight and presenting a romantic mood which takes one back to the 18th century. The entrance is unique, with an imposing wooden staircase leading to the upper floor of the building. On the ground floor of the mansion, there is a small county style kitchen, where one can be self-served 24-hours per day at the large dining room. There is, also, the Living room with a big Fireplace dominates the room, with a huge TV LCD with Home Cinema and Hi-Fi DVD, for fun hours. Last, bur not least, on the ground floor, there is a lovely veranda with a green garden, where you can be served our rich, with local products, Breakfast or your afternoon coffee. The five luxurious rooms, which two of them, are on the ground floor and the other three are on the first floor, have their own style, color, and furniture with unique and different type decoration bathrooms, satisfying the most demanding tastes and accommodating from two to four persons. The five luxurious rooms, which two of them, are on the ground floor and the other three are on the first floor, have their own style, color, and furniture with unique and different type decoration bathrooms, satisfying the most demanding tastes and accommodating from two to four persons. On the ground floor there are two rooms: The “NAYSIKA” a marvelous double bed room with stone walls, window with view towards the garden and the “ILEKTRA” with white and blue colorings, a room with an internal baluster staircase which leads to an attic which can accommodate until four persons, with windows with view towards the village’s houses. On the First Floor there are three rooms: The “APHRODITE” a beautiful Superior room with pink coloring with Living room and windows with view towards the houses of Petra, the “SAPPHO”, a double bed room with French grey and red colorings, with a hidden space, the Greek way to say “sofa”, which can accommodate a child, with window with view towards the village’s houses and the “FAIDRA”, our Suite, with traditional furniture and purple coloring with a Jacuzzi in the bathroom and windows with view towards the garden and the church of Petra. LIVE THE ROMANCE!!!!!!!!!!! Local Amenities and ActivitiesPetra is about 55 kilometers from the capital of the island, Mytilene. Characteristic of the village is 40 feet rock which dominates the area and at the top of it is the Church of the Virgin Mary. Built in the 18th century, is one of the most popular religious destinations of the island and to reach there, you have to climb 114 steps. The region is one of the most developed tourist on the island. Petra seems to be inhabited since antiquity as evidenced by the fact that at the area Keramidaria, just 600 meters from the village of Petra, is an ancient cemetery. Petra is full of preservable towers, most of the them were built during the 19th and 20th century, with lush gardens and beautiful knockers on their doors. A typical example is the Mansion Vareltzidenas, which is an unique architecture building on the island and is famous for its interior decoration and beautiful frescoes. The area has many tavernas, restaurants and bars, which do not spoil the aesthetics of the visitor. The sandy beach of Petra, three kilometers long, is one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. The sea here is crystal clear, ideal for swimming and water sports. Just across the beach, visitors can observe four uninhabited islets, of which the largest is St. George, the small island, the Glaronisi and the fourth is called Ant, which is an environmentally protected area for wild birds and ecological observatory. The Women's Agricultural Association of Petra, which is the first in Europe, started in 1983 and has many activities such as room-rentals, production of traditional sweets and offering hand-made traditional Greek breakfast. They, also, have a restaurant on the main square of Petra, where visitors can taste the local cuisine, all made exclusively with local products. You should visit Anaxos, just 2.5 kilometers from Petra. It has a beautiful beach, rooms and many traditional taverns. Located 3.5 miles away from Anaxos, the visitor will find the beautiful beaches of Tsichrantas and Ampelia. At Avlaki, the beach where one can find on the road from Petra to Anaxos, is really amazing. Lafionas is a traditional village, southwest of Petra, located five kilometers from Petra. Built on a hill has a breathtaking view of Petra and Molyvos. In the village of Petra live 3,750 inhabitants. The habitation was in antiquity, as found just 600 meters away from the village of Ancient Cemetery, near Keramidia. Also there have been discovered in the area coins of the Ancient Greek and Roman era, Byzantine baths, 16th century frescoes at the Church of St. Nicholas. A temple, basilica style, which is on the way to the Virgin Mary, which dominates the mural describing the death of Judas.
