This 200+ years Old Dutch house has 3 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a large dining room, large living room with a bar, study and pantry, and a antique kitchen. A long verandah has steps down into the garden making al fresco dining a joy. The house has recently been renovated and decorated to suit today's needs with all the antique furniture. Main two bed rooms are air conditioned.

This Villa is situated in Kataluwa/Sri Lanka (In between well known Koggala and Ahangama beach) and within 5 minutes walking distance to Kataluwa beach and the koggala lake. Land size of the villa is 1.5 acres and house contains 4500 squire feet of living area relaxing quite calm holiday with the maximum privacy as the Villa is covered by a large garden wall.

We are currently finishing the tennis court and this house contains outdoor BBQ hut, large in house open living space facing to each bead rooms, large relaxing garden, Place for Golf practice net and vegetable garden and a in-house balcony as a kids pay area. We are currently looking for a tenant, who would willing to rent this ancient Dutch house for long term lease agreement.

Local Amenities and Activities

Swimming - in the warm waters of the Indian ocean at Kataluwa and Koggala beach just 5 minutes walking distance.
Snorkelling - in coral pools in front of the beach villas
Diving -equipment can be hired locally.
Fishing - boats and fishing gear can be hired for trolling. Sri Lanka is an angler’s paradise. Deep sea fishing can be great fun. More so when fishing for pleasure and relaxation for blue and black marline, white or striped tuna, Spanish mackerel, barracuda and others. Still fishing/casting in the ocean at Kataluwa beach or for smaller fish in Koggala lake.
Surfing - Ideal surfing in a bay, a few minutes drive from the house. Boards can be hired locally.
Visit a turtle hatchery - Turtle eggs are protected by purchasing them from fishermen and given to a hatchery. Once eggs hatch, the baby turtles are released back to sea. If you are lucky, you too will have the opportunity to release them. The first batch of baby turtles were released to sea in April 2006.
Dolphins - Dolphins have been sighted in the nearby sea. Dolphins have been known to accompany boats on several occasions. Enthusiasts can hire a boat from local fishermen for dolphin watching expeditions.
Walking/jogging -on the beach or along country roads around the koggala lake.
Yoga - A yoga instructor can be arranged -( prior notice is required). Bookings can be made according to availability.
Masseurs - Herbal / Ayuruvedic masseurs can be arranged.
Sight seeing:
1. The Dutch fort in Galle -A world heritage site dating back to the 16th century with ramparts, churches, mosques, temples and many restaurants are just 20 minutes away.
2. Hadunagoda tea factory - The only tea estate that makes White Tea, after the recipe of ancient Chinese Emperors. It is also the only tea estate so close to the Indian Ocean, is 20 minutes from Kataluwa beach. Visitors are conducted through a full tour of harvesting and preparation of tea, rubber, cinnamon, and other spices found in Sri Lanka.
3. Cinnamon oil making and cinnamon plantation visits in the Koggala lake islands.
4. Koggala lake - is few minutes from house which is home to indigenous fauna and flora of Sri Lanka.
5. Koggala lake is a bird watchers delight. Eagle island has over 60 nesting eagles. On an island in Kogala lake cinnamon peeling and processing is demonstrated for visitors.
6. Visit Cinnamon oil making and cinnamon plantations.
Unawatuna beach - known to be among the world's best beaches is a few minutes away from the Villa.
Important - 30 minutes to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. Qualified specialists can be channelled there and also in the private hospitable in the Galle town. A doctor is available for house calls in case of an emergency.

Airport pickups and drop offs can be arrange on request. Approximately three and half hours drive from Sri Lanka’s main International Airport (Bandaranayake International Airport). Air conditioned luxury van will be provided for Airport pick-ups and drop offs.

Driving directions (from airport or sea port)

By Car:

We are 3 ½ hour drive from Colombo International Airport and capital city. Airport transfer can be arranged for all flight times for a minimal fee. Airport Transfer is, picked and transfer to the villa (Up to 6 person in an air conditioned vehicle). Please send a request for Airport Transfer pricing.

By Rail:

Regular trains run to and from Colombo. This is Villa is five minutes from Kataluwa train station.

By Air:

You can have a helicopter or a sea plane from Rathmalana to Koggala domestic air port.35 minutes from Colombo International airport to Koggala.
